From what I discovered, her influence extended far beyond her professional achievements, touching the lives of her colleagues and patients in profound ways.
An Inspiration to Many.
While I have not had the privilege of meeting her personally, the stories I heard and the sentiments shared about her paint a vivid picture of a physician who was much more than just a medical professional.
Dr. Lau recently retired from Massachusetts General Hospital, and was the founder of the Division of Dentistry at MGH in Boston, MA. The painting was a gift from her colleagues.
The original photograph was captured on location in a patient exam room at Mass General Hospital, with permission granted by them to use as the reference for this commission.
A Compassionate Provider.
By all accounts, Dr Lau's professionalism and courtesy were unwavering. Her diligence and knowledge in her field impressed colleagues and patients alike. She was not just a doctor but a mentor and a guide, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. Her retirement from the profession is deeply felt, as echoed in the words of many who say, “she will be missed.”
